Curricular Philosophy and Outcomes

The goal of the PharmD curriculum at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Jadara University (JU) is to prepare students in this professional doctorate program (PharmD) to become highly competent pharmacy practitioners, who are medication experts with a broad perspective including knowledge of healthcare systems, policy and practice. Further, graduates will be capable of delivering optimal patient-centered care in a collaborative, interprofessional environment.

Upon completion of the PharmD curriculum, students will be able to:

  1. Integrate and apply knowledge from foundational sciences to solve therapeutic problems and promote human health.
  2. Apply the knowledge from clinical sciences such as therapeutics, health behavior, social and administrative sciences, health policy in the practice of pharmacy.
  3. Provide patient-centered care as the medication expert.
  4. Properly utilize different available resources to manage patient healthcare needs and optimize safety and efficacy of medication system use.
  5. Utilize information management systems to access patient medical information and provide care.
  6. Educate individuals and communities regarding optimal medication use to improve health and wellness.
  7. Identify health-related problems and design and evaluate feasible solutions.
  8. Actively participate with other healthcare tem members to meet patient care needs.
  9. Recognize and appreciate social determinants of health and respect patients’ social, cultural and religious perspectives.
  10. Communicate Effectively and professionally, both verbally and nonverbally, when communicating with patients, public, or other healthcare team members and exhibit behaviors and values that are consistent with profession.
